VegasNow Lightning Roulette: payouts, multipliers and bonus maths
Lightning Roulette is Evolution's live single-zero wheel with a twist: each round, one to five numbers light up with a random multiplier from 50× to 500×, paid only on straight-up bets. This page prices every outcome in A$, explains why the table counts 25% toward a VegasNow bonus, and lists what to check before your first chip.
The VegasNow Lightning Roulette table in one view
Every figure that shapes a session, and who sets it. Evolution streams and settles the game, so the payout rules are the studio's; the bonus and loyalty rows come from our own terms.
| Item | Figure | Set by |
|---|---|---|
| Studio | Evolution, with a live presenter | Our lobby listing |
| Wheel | European, single zero, 37 pockets (0 to 36) | Evolution |
| Numbers struck per round | One to five | Evolution |
| Multipliers | Random, from 50× up to 500× | Evolution |
| Single-number win | 29:1; the multiplier instead if struck | Evolution |
| All other bets | Usual roulette rates, no multiplier | Evolution |
| Share of each stake counted toward wagering | 25% | VegasNow general bonus terms |
| Bet ceiling while a bonus runs | A$8 | VegasNow general bonus terms |
| Cash-out ceiling per bonus offer | A$5,000 | VegasNow general bonus terms |
| Loyalty points | 1 for every A$100 staked | VegasNow loyalty programme |
Two figures are missing deliberately. Evolution's game page publishes no return-to-player percentage for this table, so we give none, and the stake limits live in the game's help panel. Read them there before betting, then open the VegasNow live lobby and search for the table by name.
One round of Lightning Roulette, from first chip to payout
The wheel is the European one: 36 numbered pockets and one green zero. A presenter hosts from Evolution's studio, and each round runs in four stages.
Chips go down
A countdown opens the window. Inside bets cover single numbers, splits, streets, corners and lines; outside bets cover dozens, columns, colours, odd/even and high/low.
Betting shuts, lightning strikes
When the timer ends, one to five numbers light up, each with a multiplier picked at random somewhere between 50× and 500×. Two struck numbers in one round can carry different figures.
The ball drops
The wheel is spun and the ball comes to rest in one of 37 pockets. That pocket settles every bet on the layout.
Three settlement rules
A single-number chip on the winning pocket collects 29:1 when the number is unstruck, or the struck number's multiplier when it is lit. Any other winning bet earns the usual roulette rate either way.
Hold on to that last rule. Lightning only ever touches single-number bets: a winning dozen, column or colour is paid as on a plain table, even if the ball finds a struck pocket.
Which bets the lightning can touch
The layout splits into one bet that can be multiplied and everything else.
| Bet | Numbers covered | Can it be multiplied? | Winning bet pays |
|---|---|---|---|
| Straight-up | 1 | Only if that number is struck | 29:1, or the multiplier |
| Split | 2 | No | Usual roulette rate |
| Street | 3 | No | Usual roulette rate |
| Corner | 4 | No | Usual roulette rate |
| Line | 6 | No | Usual roulette rate |
| Dozen or column | 12 | No | Usual roulette rate |
| Red/black, odd/even, high/low | 18 | No | Usual roulette rate |
Why 29:1? The multipliers need funding. An unstruck single-number win pays less here than on a conventional single-zero table, and that difference pays for the rare 50× to 500× result. Check the straight-up rate printed on another roulette table in our live casino lobby and the gap is visible. One design pays every win evenly; this one trims the everyday win to fund occasional large ones. Bet mostly outside and it plays like ordinary roulette with a light show.
Pricing a straight-up chip at VegasNow
A single-number chip can end three ways: lost, paid at 29:1, or paid at a multiplier. Because the rules are published, each can be priced in advance. Below are an A$3 chip and an A$8 chip, the most we accept per bet while a bonus is active.
| Result for one single-number chip | A$3 chip | A$8 chip |
|---|---|---|
| Ball finds another pocket | A$3 lost | A$8 lost |
| Your number, unstruck (29:1) | A$87 won | A$232 won |
| Your number, struck at 50× | A$150 won | A$400 won |
| Your number, struck at 500× | A$1,500 won | A$4,000 won |
Any multiplier between those ends works the same way: chip size times the figure on the board.
Six small chips instead of one larger one
Now split the same A$3 into six A$0.50 chips on six numbers. Only one pocket wins, so five chips always lose. An unstruck hit wins A$14.50 against A$2.50 lost, leaving the round A$12 up. A hit struck at 50× wins A$25, so the round ends A$22.50 up; at 500× it wins A$250, or A$247.50 net. If none of the six comes in, all A$3 goes.
One chip covers one pocket of 37; six chips cover six. Spreading makes hits more frequent and each hit smaller, but it cannot make a given number more likely to be struck, since the lightning is random and ignores where your chips are.
Covering more numbers: what changes and what does not
Keep every chip at A$0.50, keep adding numbers, and the trade becomes clear.
| Numbers covered | Cost per round | Pockets where every chip loses | Round result, unstruck hit | Round result, hit struck at 50× |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | A$0.50 | 36 | +A$14.50 | +A$25.00 |
| 3 | A$1.50 | 34 | +A$13.50 | +A$24.00 |
| 6 | A$3.00 | 31 | +A$12.00 | +A$22.50 |
| 12 | A$6.00 | 25 | +A$9.00 | +A$19.50 |
Every added chip takes A$0.50 off each winning round and covers one more pocket. At twelve numbers the full A$6 still vanishes in 25 of 37 pockets, and an unstruck hit nets just A$9.
Go further and the ordinary win stops paying its way. At 30 numbers, an unstruck hit's A$14.50 exactly cancels the 29 losing chips, so the round breaks even. Beyond 30, a plain 29:1 hit leaves you down and only a strike rescues the round.
Lightning Roulette and VegasNow bonus wagering
The general bonus terms we published on 26 February 2024 set a contribution rate per game type: roulette 25%, pokies 100% (some titles excepted), blackjack and game shows 10% each, baccarat 0%. Live casino play is eligible for the welcome package, so this table can clear it, just at a quarter of each stake: an A$4 round moves the requirement by A$1.
A fresh example: an A$60 card deposit at stage one of our welcome package brings a 150% match worth A$90. At 40×, that bonus needs A$3,600 of qualifying wagering inside seven days. Here is what that costs on each game type.
| Where you wager | Contribution | Stakes needed for A$3,600 | Rounds at A$8 | Rounds at A$3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pokies not on the exceptions list | 100% | A$3,600 | 450 | 1,200 |
| Roulette, Lightning Roulette included | 25% | A$14,400 | 1,800 | 4,800 |
| Blackjack | 10% | A$36,000 | 4,500 | 12,000 |
| Game shows such as Crazy Time | 10% | A$36,000 | 4,500 | 12,000 |
| Baccarat | 0% | Not counted | None | None |
All on Lightning Roulette, the A$3,600 means A$14,400 staked: 1,800 rounds at A$8, about 257 a day across the week, or 4,800 rounds at A$3, near 686 a day. Two more rules apply. The stage's 200 free spins arrive only after the A$60 deposit is wagered once, and under our account terms a deposit must be turned over three times, A$180 here, before related funds can leave.
Later stages scale the same way
Bigger deposits stretch the numbers quickly. An A$250 second deposit with code VEGAS2 earns a 100% match of A$250 plus 50 free spins. Its 40× target is A$10,000, which on Lightning Roulette alone means A$40,000 of stakes: 5,000 rounds at the A$8 ceiling, or roughly 714 a day for seven days. The deposit itself also needs A$750 of turnover under the three-times rule before a withdrawal.
Why a live wheel clears a VegasNow bonus slowly
At 25%, a dollar of progress costs four dollars staked, and contribution is measured on the bet, never the payout. An A$8 round adds A$2 whether it misses, wins at 29:1 or lands a 500× strike. A big win grows the balance, not the progress bar. The wheel also sets the pace: window, strike, spin and settlement come before each new round, while the seven-day clock keeps ticking.
A split plan for the same A$3,600
Plenty of players clear most of a target on pokies and save the wheel for fun. Stake A$2,800 on eligible pokies, counted in full, plus A$3,200 on Lightning Roulette, which adds A$800 at 25%. That reaches A$3,600 on A$6,000 of total stakes, A$8,400 less than the roulette-only route. Make sure the pokie is not on the exceptions list in the terms.
If roulette is all you want, you can skip the bonus: our general terms let you decline an offer. That removes the A$8 bonus ceiling (table limits still apply), the seven-day clock and the 40× target, though the three-times deposit rule remains, so an A$60 deposit still needs A$180 of play. The bonuses overview covers how declining works.
A big strike against the VegasNow A$5,000 offer ceiling
Bonus play here has a limit that cash play lacks: each deposit offer has an A$5,000 cash-out ceiling. It matters more at this table than at most in our lobby, because one chip can come close to it.
A 500× strike on an A$8 chip wins A$4,000, leaving A$1,000 of headroom on that offer. Smaller chips can still get there. Say an A$5 chip is struck at 500× for A$2,500, and later an A$6 chip is struck at 500× for A$3,000. That is A$5,500 in total, A$500 beyond what the offer can release, so the cap, not the wheel, sets the final figure.
Each welcome stage also allows just one live bonus on the account, lasts seven days and keeps bets at A$8 or less until its wagering is met or you decline it.
Loyalty points from Lightning Roulette at VegasNow
Real-money play earns points in our loyalty scheme, which has seven Las Vegas-themed levels, the first of them Golden Glimmer. Rates depend on the game.
| Game | Points earned | Stakes for 200 points, the smallest exchange |
|---|---|---|
| Pokies | 1 per A$25 | A$5,000 |
| Roulette, Lightning Roulette included | 1 per A$100 | A$20,000 |
| Blackjack and baccarat | 1 per A$250 | A$50,000 |
Points track turnover, not results. A$14,400 of real-money Lightning Roulette stakes earns 144 points, 56 short of the 200 that exchange for an A$5 bonus at Golden Glimmer.
The two scales line up neatly. The split plan above earns 112 points from A$2,800 on pokies and 32 from A$3,200 on roulette: 144 again. A$36,000 at blackjack also lands on 144. Because earning rates mirror contribution rates, clearing one target earns the same points by any eligible route; only the stake differs. Points are tied to real-money wagers, so check in your account how bonus-funded stakes are treated.
Loyalty Store bonuses carry 40× wagering, so an A$5 exchange means an A$200 target, or A$800 of roulette stakes. Our VIP and loyalty page lists level thresholds and the Sin City VIP Lounge.
Lightning Roulette on your phone
The stream runs in Safari or Chrome. Neither Apple's App Store nor Google Play carries a VegasNow app and we never hand out an APK, so be wary of any download using our name. For one-tap access, pin the site: Safari users go to Share and pick Add to Home Screen, while Chrome users open the three-dot menu and choose Install or Add to Home screen. Our mobile page has both routes and tips on spotting fakes.
A phone crams 37 numbers into a small grid, so check each chip landed where intended while the timer is still running; landscape mode can help. Live video needs a steadier signal than a pokie, and the window closes on the presenter's clock, so bet early. If the stream drops mid-round, record the time and round reference for our support team.
Before your first VegasNow spin: a checklist
- Right table. Check the stream is Lightning Roulette and read its help panel for stake limits.
- Bonus status. An active offer means A$8 per bet and 25% contribution. Decide on declining before you start, not midway.
- Cost of a round. Total the layout first. Six A$0.50 chips plus A$2 on red is A$5 a round, not A$3.
- Number of rounds. Divide the budget by that cost: A$45 at A$5 a round lasts nine rounds if nothing wins.
- Limits. Put a deposit limit on the account ahead of the session, not after a losing run.
- A stopping point. Choose a time or balance at which you leave, however the night goes.
Six Lightning Roulette mistakes to avoid
Most errors here come from expecting more from the lightning than it gives.
- Expecting a multiplier on a group bet. Colours, odd/even, dozens and columns pay normal rates even on a struck number, as do splits, streets, corners and lines.
- Treating 500× as typical. It tops a random range, and at most five of 37 pockets are lit each round, so the ball usually lands on an unstruck number.
- Taking 29:1 for the normal straight-up rate. It is this table's rate, lowered to fund the multipliers.
- Staking over A$8 with a bonus open. The ceiling covers every bet until the offer is cleared or declined.
- Counting on a strike to clear wagering. Contribution is per stake, so a 500× hit moves the target no more than a miss.
- Chasing an overdue or freshly struck number. Every round is drawn anew; the wheel and the lightning have no memory.
The Crazy Time page applies the same thinking to a money wheel with its own multipliers and a 10% contribution.
Keeping VegasNow roulette sessions in proportion
The licence behind VegasNow, OGL/2024/164/0246, was issued by the Curaçao Gaming Authority to Just Entertainment B.V., and its record is on the public validator. Only adults, 18 or older, may play.
Lightning Roulette is made to hold attention, with short rounds and a dramatic strike. Fix the budget first and let it, not the animation, end the session. A$45 at A$1.50 a round gives 30 rounds; if the money is gone at round 18, stop there rather than topping up. Short breaks between sessions help too, because a fast table makes time slip by.
You can set deposit limits or self-exclude from inside your VegasNow account, and the responsible gambling page walks through every tool. Free, confidential counselling is available from Gambling Help Online on 1800 858 858 and at gamblinghelponline.org.au, while BetStop runs the national self-exclusion register covering Australian-licensed wagering providers.
VegasNow Lightning Roulette: questions and answers
How much does a single-number chip win at VegasNow Lightning Roulette?
On an unstruck number it pays 29:1, so an A$4 chip wins A$116. On a struck number the multiplier applies instead, which turns the same A$4 into A$200 at 50× or A$2,000 at 500×.
How many numbers are struck by lightning in a round?
One to five, chosen fresh each round. Every struck number gets its own random multiplier somewhere from 50× up to 500×.
Can a split, corner or colour bet be multiplied?
No. The multiplier applies only to a single-number chip on a struck pocket. All other bets are paid at normal roulette rates, wherever the ball lands.
How much of a Lightning Roulette stake counts toward a VegasNow bonus?
A quarter. Under our general bonus terms roulette contributes 25%, so an A$1,000 target takes A$4,000 of stakes, with each bet capped at A$8 while the bonus runs.
Can I use Lightning Roulette to clear the VegasNow welcome package?
Yes. The welcome offers cover casino and live casino play, so this table is eligible. It counts 25% of each stake, which makes it a slower route than eligible pokies at 100%.
Will a lightning win clear my wagering faster?
No. Progress depends on the stake alone. An A$5 chip adds A$1.25 whether it loses, wins at 29:1 or hits 500×.
What is the most one chip can win with a bonus active?
An A$8 chip struck at 500× wins A$4,000. On top of that, each deposit offer can release no more than A$5,000, so a second big win under the same bonus may hit that cap.
Is there a published RTP for VegasNow Lightning Roulette?
Evolution's game page gives no return-to-player figure for the table, so we do not print one. Any RTP describes the long run, not what happens in one evening.
Does Lightning Roulette work on a phone?
Yes, through Safari or Chrome. No verified VegasNow app exists in either store and there is no APK; pinning the site to your Home Screen gives you a one-tap icon.
What does Lightning Roulette add to my loyalty balance?
One point per A$100 of real-money stakes. The smallest Loyalty Store exchange, 200 points for an A$5 bonus at Golden Glimmer, takes A$20,000 of roulette, and that bonus has 40× wagering.
